Since taking on the responsibility of raising the necessary funds to support Nancy I have developed a "scrounging muscle" of Schwarzeneggar proportions - so I make no apologies for including the following excerpt from the next "Jibbooms & Bobstays" (which is the newsletter of the NB Trust). Help has come from many quarters already but more is always welcome!!
Fitting Out for 1998
The 1998 programme for Nancy involves over 1,500 sea miles which, by any standards, is a busy season. Some of the legs to be sailed are fairly demanding and the level of safety equipment we must carry aboard has to be improved before setting sail. In addition to specific safety gear there are a number of other items which we need to complete Nancy's fitting out.
Last year several friends of Nancy offered to sponsor the purchase of various peices of equipment and this is being written in the hope that there may be others who would like to make a similar offer to sponsor all, or part, of any item. The items we need include:-
Jackstays & ringbolts £70 incl fitting
Safety Harness - four req £25 each
Mooring Warps - four req £32 each

Off-shore flares Donated by Suffolk Sailing

Chocks for kedge £50 incl fitting

Nancy Blackett Trust Burgee - will have to be made??!!

Attachment of reefing points to sail £50
