By all means, go for the car! Getting there is at least half the fun. Search out all the little roads - everytime you get to an intersection, take the smallest road, get lost, find pubs, stay at remote B&Bs. You won't regret it. I do agree with Alan Truelove - remove the wheel covers as those little tiny curbs are designed to trap the tourist, and likely locals as well. Get lots of maps. Go for it. Dan
