I picked up Roger Wardale's East Anglia book in Horning last year, after unsuccessfully trying to find it in bookshops in other parts of the country. Likewise both his and Claire Kendall-Price's books currently in print can be readily found in Coniston, Ambleside and no doubt in Rio.

For Christina Hardyment's long-out-of-print book, your best chance of perusing a copy might be to see if the local libraries in the Windermere/Coniston area have it - not that you will want to spend a lot of time indoors while in the Lakes !

As someone else has mentioned, if you do as my son and I did in February and stay at Holly Howe (aka Bank Ground - strongly recommended) they have a good set of books and photos relating to all things Ransome.

Hope the weather is kind and you have a great visit.
