I presume you know Andrew, but I suspect that others don't, the footpath goes around the quay but does not go past Witch's cottage. The short length of track that goes back to Quay Lane is a private road, the footpath goes around the fields and then goes back to Walton Road down the side of the Wood House which is near the Ship Inn.
This may seem a trivial point, but I know the owners of the house by the Quay often got fed up with people going the wrong way!
