I have discovered the following from the 'Liverpool Registry of Merchant Ships':

The John and Nancy, was built at Northwich, Cheshire, in 1766, as a 50 ton Mersey 'flat' (a type of single-mast gaff-rigged sailing barge). The vessel was wrecked in 1789.

The following year (1790) the Nancy and Peggy was built at Liverpool, as a 77 ton flat. I have not discovered the fate of this vessel.
