I tend to think that part of the problem with the sailing is that it's a physical skill that needs practice. Dick only gets to sail a few days in a year, and that's not enough time to learn all the technicalities of sailing.
I was thinking about Dick's scientific mind this morning. In PM, even though he's almost throwing up, he still has the ability to notice exactly what he's removing from that rabbit. (There are lots of rabbits on my campus- Jackie would be in heaven.)
