I recall reading somewhere (Captain Flint's Trunk ?) that Myles North, the instigator of GN?, came up with another story outline with GO having been sent to the colonies (specifically Kenya), which is pretty far away. Bit hard on the Kenyan animal kingdom, methinks - I could just imagine GO leading safaris to massacre the wildlife.
