I think that, Lawrence is right in this specific instance, surely reward money, generally, would be like a prize, and honourable to accept? In this case; however, the DGs were the victims and the reward would seem like a form of compensation. ( I am trying to write the unwritable here, as codes of honour are often referred to as "unwritten laws". They are felt very strongly but liable to become incoherent when exposed to writing or even discussion).
