There is a hypothesis that, at one stage in the evolution of humans, our ancestors migrated from the African savannah and became Beach apes (or more correctly, Beach hominids).

The idea of a semi-aquatic life is used to explain our two legged upright stance and our curious hair pattern where we only need protection from the sun on our heads and a number of other uniquely human traits.
