Some of John Buchan's works may still be within copyright (if they were published post-1922, and were renewed). The first 3, at least, of The Adventures of Richard Hannay (39 Steps, Greenmantle, Mr. Standfast) all predate 1922, so are out of copyright. John MacNab (1925) is, I believe, still covered. I wouldn't be surprised if copyrights on many of his shorter pieces were not renewed, thus leaving them in public domain.
