Each of the twelve Japanese editions has the first AR illustration coloured in with a quasi-watercolour effect - I think quite tastefully, but others may disagree. I certainly don't think it's a bad joke!
Those certainly aren't- but then I can't pretend that my colouring in was in the same category. By miles and miles...
Thanks for the link to your site, by the way. It's a really good asset. I'd had a good look there when I first looked in to Tarboard but missed the Japanese editions. Aren't they elegant...
