I can't get through at the moment to the S&A Guide - perhaps its
host machine is down - but when I looked at it in December, it
prompted some thoughts about the chronology, which I sent by email to
Mr Wright, the author of the Guide, but got no reply.
One of these thoughts was that (if it makes sense at all to talk about
the chronology of the Peter Duck stories in relation to the others)
we must regard Peter Duck as happening after Swallowdale,
since the patch in Swallow's sail is mentioned at least once in the
text of PD and appears in two of the pictures. This patch only exists
as a result of the repairs carried out in Swallowdale
after the incident with the Pike Rock.
