I have found the book and it is a great read. Is it still in Copyright? Can we find out. If it is not in copyright I can put the book on the web.

LOTR is simply the retelling of Beowulf in more convulted form but it is derived in the tradition and style of those Old Norse - English tales. Reading Beowulf in the Old English is just like reading LOTR.
