A brave admission, Hilary - I note that the 'Handy Pocket Telescope' is 'tooled in spun brass and bound in hand-stitched leatherette'. The Tarboard Police will not like that 'brass'! Best get it all mucked up quick.
I rather fancy 'Capn Campbell's Vernier Sextant' complete with neat wooden box. It is, of course, brass. What makes it worse is the fact that it says: 'not intended for serious use'! Well at least that might help when Old Seaman Laurence Sees It.
