Sorry: It has been very hectic here as we count down to Thanksgiving. My wife is terribly keen to get on with our adoption from China, so we have had a three hour drive to San Antonio three times in the last month - it is amazing what losing three days to work does. Plus we had a love-in for everyone with a counsellor/mediator last week for two days for the Engineers at work who can not get on.

You think you are an ornery bunch - you have nothing on the psychotic behaviour of warped engineering academics, who have low self esteem. (I don't include any academic friends on this board in that description).

I was meaning Andy B or the Beardbiter when I thought of whom Peter could wet his virgin feet in the salty seas. Not so much a baptism as a good old Charge of the Light Brigade into the sea, Cannons to the left of them and Cannons to the right of them, etc. I heard someone the other day comment that after the Charge the Russians were really frightened of the British Cavalry and would turn and run at the sight of them. They thought they were fearless buggers - which they were. Although failing to obey orders in the British Army is never a good idea with the old styles of maintaining order in ranks.

If per chance I have mixed up my memory of Andy with Laurence I apologize.

Failing that Peter I am hoping to come to the gathering at Coniston - can someone remind me when it is - and if you are there I will take you for a sail and if you are not I will come and get you and take you for a sail. Provided some one lends us a boat.

John
