is also the title of a book written by Surgeon Rear-Admiral Muir about his sailing experiences in Bristol Channel Pilot Cutters between WW1 (when he retired) and WW2 (when, having volunteered, he was killed in action). It is a very good book if you like sailing books.

No AR connection that I know of, though they may well have known each other through eg the CA or the RCC.
