Ah yes, but English being a highly contextual language, 'complex' in the sociolological context is not equal and identical to 'complex' in the mathmatical sense. The Swallows like their mathmatical conterparts have both real and imaginary parts. I can't think of any other examples in children's literature, but surely there must be others.
