Yes - so the first one was British, and the second was German.

But if this really is a trace of the War - as originally suggested - then it comically perverse as by Titty's estimation, the British ship behaved worse than the German one!

I seem to remember Hugh Brogan suggesting George Owden (spelling?) & Co's loutishness was perhaps a reflection of the unhappy times surrounding the writing of 'The Big Six'
