The result has been that many dykes have been permanently breached and much flooding has taken place. A check on current maps shows much more deckled-edged coastlines than maps from the time of the Swallows' survey would have shown.

If, when you look at the Multimap version, you select the Aerial photograph view, suddenly the 'AR/Secret Water' map leaps out at you again. It's still very much there, although some parts are now more like mud flats than they may have been in the '30s.

Although, as you say, no Sinbad's Creek.
