Nice Latin, Robert, but uh-oh, I don't think Ed K will approve . . .
This isn't an AR 'error' but it's something which has always puzzled me. In Winter Holiday, why is it that Nancy's message, illustrated in Ch XVII, baffled the children for so long? Wouldn't it have been immediately obvious to them that the gesticulating 'matchstick' people on the far shore were semaphoring? Particularly to Peggy, who would know how Nancy's mind worked? And then isn't it obvious that the message, when spelt out, was written backwards? Surely Dick would have realised that in a flash? Their slowness in this episode seems at odds with their normal quick deduction skills.
