Coniston is 803 metres (if my memory serves me correctly), but I was taught I think, in high school geography, that a mountain is over 1000 feet. Robert your advice on this matter would be appreciated. Google merely defined a mountain as

"A natural elevation of the earth's surface having considerable mass, generally steep sides, and a height greater than that of a hill."

Which is not much help.
