Why is Peter H so quick to take offence at the postings of others?
Because a website or board on which no one ever 'takes offence' is not doing its job properly. If we all agree with each other 100% of the time, then we're just a row of nodding dolls. I welcome a bit of dynamic -why is that regarded as 'disappointing'?
And I'd query the word 'offence'. A few years ago, there was a regular Tarboard contributor who must have 'offended' just about everyone, till he was denied access. Older Tbd hands will know who I mean. He could cut through woolly arguments like a hot knife through butter, and this board is the duller for his absence. So can we not be afraid of real communication?
