As well as Catbells (from "bield" or shelter) there are in former Cumberland:
Catbutts Wood (north of Ullswater);
Cat Clint (Lazonby, in the Eden Valley);
Cat Cove (upper Eskdale);
Catgallows Hill (Brampton, east of Carlisle);
Cat Gill (draining into Derwentwater);
Catgill Hall (Egremont).

Sorry, I only have "The Place Names of Cumberland" at hand. There must be others in Westmorland and Furness. Wild cats were clearly quite widespread -- with or without islands of their own.
