Some day we will map the human genome well enough to know the chromsome that causes dowsing skills.

I have had experts tell me to drill holes for water based on a lot of geological and other data and come up empty. Very very very expensive and embarrasing.

We now have Magnetic fields, commonly denoted B, are caused by currents, or equivalently by the movement of charges. The human brain is affected by magnets - used in place of EST to relieve bad depression (old man is a shrink so I have seen EST - not pleasant).

We know the earths magnetic field is variable : One area in Minnesota has a mapped anomalous area of 16 degrees east declination with anomalies a few miles away of 12 degrees west!

The MRT is usually completed with a 1 to 3 Tesla magnet. It is known that people can feel and report a 0.2 Telsa placebo magnet that has been shown not to change mood. They feel the sensation inside the head is my reading of the thing.
