Picking up on John Nichols's suggestion - it has generally been assumed that 'Rattletrap' was a Trojan vehicle, and there was an article by David Bamford on the subject in the 2004 Mixed Moss. There is certainly a visual similarity. However, on looking at the specifications on the Trojan Museum website (www.trojanmuseumtrust.org), it seems that Trojan vehicles had epi-cyclic gearboxes, ie planetary gearing, which is not changed with a crash, as when Mrs Blackett was driving. Also - Trojans ran on a petrol/oil mixture, whereas in PM Billy was desperately looking for 'Mr Turner's petrol'. There are other small differences.

John - do you know of a Wolseley model which would pass as 'Rattletrap'?
