Peggy? Keeping them going in WH, certainly. Without a physical presence there egging them on, how much would the Swallows have been willing to go along with Nancy's efforts at stage-managing things? Without her netting skills, and her acting ability ("We were just the cooks and didn't understand any of that navigation business") the operations in GN would have been a good deal more difficult. And of course Nancy alone would never have gotten as involved with others as the pair of them could. Making the jump from a loner to a leader's vastly different from expanding your leadership role from a group of 2 to a group of 6, or 8.
