RE 8:

No one has ever been successfully prosecuted for applying first aid to a human person. Applying a band-aid stops the bleeding on my daughter knees when she crashes. I am sure the HSE do not want me to take up valuable medical time for a scrape. If it is arterial bleed then I had better stop it fast or the person is dead. I learned this fact at the St John's Ambos's place when we got Eliza.

I was used as the leg splint example - the Lady enjoyed demonstrating how to straighten a leg. Luckily I had my children by then and yes she hurt like hell.

The whole class of ladies thought it was funny. I did not, still smarts to think on that little episode in my life.

Dad once used a table knife to give a guy a tracheomaty in a cafe when the poor fellow chocked on a chop bone. I remember him knocking the guy to the ground, grabbing the knife, slicing his throat and putting his fingers in to pull out the chop bone, He then held it aloft and screamed "Got it". I kid you not. Luckily I do not have his sense of the dramatic, nor the MD degree that protects that type of assault.

I have finished the transom - so it is too late.

It was not a written rule, simply a more of the Australian times about craft classes. I was simply not even offered the choice that I remember.

I come from a family that does a lot of woodworking so it does not matter. But I have Charlotte working in the shop when she is here. I find that if you go slowly you can sort out most things.
