There used to be an erudite (naturally) discussion of mangoes and mangroves (by me) on the FAQ page. I can't find it now.
There are references to "mangoes" on the shoreline of at least one of the Three Islands in ML as well as the "Mango Islands" in SW.
It seems clear that both references should be to "mangroves", though whether the error was AR's or the publisher's I have no idea.
Mango swamps might be tastier, though.
