Adders aren't scary - they are lovely things provided that you follow Young Billy's advice.

There are lots around the lower end of Coniston Water. And quite a lot in the coastal area of Suffolk.

I can never understand the urge to kill snakes - grass snakes as well as adders. I once rescued a (very angry) grass snake from a French lynch mob, explaining in pidgin French that they were dangerous only to Frogs. It was only later that I realised that this could have neen a double entendre!
