Interesting to see the trans-atlantic reaction from Dan and Ed. I am very uneasy about comparisons with World War II, Churchill, the Blitz etc. Some of us have always had severe doubts about Tony Blair's policy to join with GWB in the Iraq raid, and as they say, 'we are now reaping the harvest'. The whole position is surely a lot more ambivalent than in 1939. Nevertheless, the good wishes are sincere, and appreciated.
