The Twenty Minutes interval item in tonight's BBC Radio 3 Proms Concert (HMS Pinafore) was recorded at the Festival of the Sea in Falmouth and looks at the rich heritage of Sea Shanties. With references to Hanging Johnnie and Falmouth there seems to be a sufficient Ransome connection to mention it here, and it's certainly very interesting in its own right.

The item is available for at least the next 24 hours via the Listen Again service on the BBC Radio3 website (from the link below follow the link to "All BBC Classical genre programmes in Radio Player" and then scroll down to find "20 Minutes" listed in the player window that pops-up. The item doesn't start immediately but is about 10 minutes in.)
