...So I for one don't mind the slight alterations from the "norm", if the car was finished off elsewhere.

The use of eight-spoke wheels might simply be an illustrative shortcut: wire wheels when drawn as numerous narrow lines converging at the hub might well "bleed" at this axle end, leaving a big inky mess.

Of course, the big question for me is "what or who on Earth are/is Gabriel Snubbers?"
