Swallow:

I think the Scottish boat builder (whose name escapes me) could build a decent replica of the Swallow. I have spent a considerable time taking off the details from Scarab, the drawn Swallow and the drawn Amazon. I think my dimensions are as close as anyone is going to get. There is no doubt the real Swallow and Amazon are not the boats that we have pictures for and of course we have the real Amazon.

I have a picture of Amazon on the water and I have been meaning to get the dimensions from her. Should make a nice story for a mag if anyone is interested.

Scarab seems to be ok on a trailer with real planks and still sailable. I would think that good oak planks - 11 mm thick should be ok, and then a thin coat of epoxy on the bottom. I put a centreboard into my Swallow as I like centreboards, it would be easy to leave it out.

TARS has sufficient funds in kitty to build a boat now. What are we going to do with the money anyway. I would expect her to cost 5 to 8 thousand pounds.
