It is all very interesting to see the "favorites" and "least favorites" among the books and the reasonings -- it only reflects upon individual likes and dislikes. I think it is amazing that Mr. Ransome could write stories that can appeal to all these tastes! The stories are all different; as I mentioned somewhere, if they were all alike, boredom for the series would have set in long ago and we wouldn't be exchanging thoughts on this subject!

As Ed Kiser says, it is part of "All Things Ransome!".

I am not meaning for a halt to this discussion; but to realize our differences - which is what makes us (and the world) interesting. We MUST be tolerent and appreciative of the differences between all peoples - lack of this is one reason the world is in such difficulties now. I think that is one of the most important aspects of Mr. Ransome's books, that everyone works together utilizing each one's indiviual capabilities and differences to work toward the outcome of the story. Due to this, everyone contributes in a unique manner to the story (same in the "real" world). I remember being rather dissapointed when I read "Coot Club" for the first time as it had a whole new set of people and location; but, as I read on and upon rereading, it was an entirely new and exciting adventure!

Good Reading!
