As the person who edits The Outlaw and also the last issue of Signals, I really feel proud that these magazines are read around the world. I have been especially pleased to include articles sent in by members from Japan, Canada, USA and Australia - it gives me a great sense of belonging to a world-wide community. (Signals also included a report put together by Peter Wright of overseas activities).

Joy is right that there is a significant setting up cost in printing, and the marginal cost of each magazine is low. Therefore, what we should all be doing is trying to attract more members! Another part of the answer to the cost issue might be to make sure people feel they're getting value for money. I'd be please to hear comments on this - I thought the last Signals had a lot of good stuff in it, and I was very pleased with the cover.
