Hurricane Rita is coming straight down our throats.
Our Governor (the guy with the great looking hair as one of his opponents so badly put it) has the state a bit better prepared than poor New Orleans. Apparently they moved 2.4 million people up a dual carriageway road (all lanes going north) in 36 hours from Houston to Dallas. It is still 31 degrees here in late September, it is hot sitting here typing.
Say a pray for those left on the islands along the Texas coast - these people are real duffers and some of them are going to drown.
