I subscribed also to the colour-blindness theory but, like you, I was not wholly convinced. The Oriental Club seems a much more pausible idea. On the Club's website the flag appears to have a green and white background, but I may be mistaken. I wonder if AR, rather than Jim Turner, was a member of the Oriental Club?
