Without wishing to be pedantic, Nancy was at school too late for this to be Edwardian. She was a child/scholar during the reign of George V - although I doubt if the reigning monarch would have influenced her career choice! Although she would have witnessed the coronation and abdication of Edward VIII in 1936. I would like to think that, due to her age and character, she might have worked for an organisation like the SOE during the war and then, if she hadn't been beaten to it, founded the Outwardbound organisation!
