Very unlikely. The British media was terribly conservative at the time, like British society, and that included the Beeb. Their overseas and war correspondents were all men- although some of their Talks producers were women.

Women were breaking through- for example Margaret Bourke-White and Lee Miller became legendary for their work as war reporters and photographers, but they were American. The Brits were way behind.
