Joy, half my family always got seasick while the other half revelled in large rolling waves. I still remember being in a tiny dinghy with my father, mother and brother and going up and down rollers several times larger than the boat as we headed up the mouth of the Manakau harbour (one of the most dangerous harbour entrances in the southern hemisphere). Dad and I were loving it, Mum and brother were green! Yet I get constantly sick on the ferry crossing between the north and south islands.
I deal with it by not eating before I get on the ferry and staying outside whenever possible.
