Just loaned "Swallows and Amazons" and "Swallowdale" to a neighbor who is a Reference Librarian. She had never heard of Mr. Ransome. Will give report on results.

By the way, we have a really great little lake (Lake Wilson) just south of here, would make a great place for a centrally located (from ALL parts of the USofA) Ransome oriented gathering. I have seen a sailboat or two there. Of course, in Kansas, we do have WIND! Also we even have SCENERY - hills, rock outcroppings and other natural thingies.

I'm not a boat person, but really enjoy reading about all of your boats, boat building and sailing adventures! I have always felt, since I first read Mr. Ransome, that I knew something about the subject, and now I am finding out more!
