Re PM-for me the attraction is
(a) emergence of Nancy in an adult and responsible role (hostess..)
(b) There is no do-or-die goal, the D's are free to experience the magic of just living and vacationing in the Lakes - they have a boat to sail, fish to guddle, things to cook -- we commoners may just take a rowboat around the Bowness Islands, an evening cruise, poke around an utterly deserted Wray Castle after dark, just drive up to the Keswick Lake playhouse and back to Windermere on a deserted road (in England?),
and of course go round the wonderful Historical and Literary sites and gardens. Others agree with me that there is nothing like it in the rest of the world (the closest - all Lakes-: Chautauqua Institution in upstate NY; Mont Tremblant N. of Montreal; the man-made Lake N of Atlanta where we had a TARS weekend --)
