Well you could always make two sails. One for use when she is used as a sail trainer by little persons, the other for your own use when fighting the ebb tide to get to the pub.

Alternatively, now that you've got the hang of this boatbuilding lark, you could rig Mary Anne with a big sail for your own use and also build a much smaller boat which would be ideal for a 6 - 10 year old. How about the 7'6" Greenshank?
