I was told about the aversion to tobacco smoke by a psychiatrist at a dinner party some years ago.
I had noticed him handing round cigarettes at the dinner table but not smoking himself. I asked why and he said that he did smoke in front of patients who might be suffering from schizophrenia.
This is probably old medecine and nowdays politically incorrect anyway.
