Oo, that's a bit cynical with regard to the Amazons. So, when Nancy says 'There'll be one less thing for her [the G.A.] to complain to Mother about. And if we can only manage to be angels for ten whole days she won't have anything to complain to Mother about at all.', Nancy is merely protecting her inheritance? Well, it's a view, I suppose.
Well at least we can exempt the postman from 'hope and greed'. He says 'If it's to save trouble for Mrs Blackett I'll take the risk and say nowt about it.' I think it is unlikely that the postman would feature in the G.A.'s will.
