Er, he didn't. (His 'adult' books don't count.)

Perhaps the GA disapproved of Bob Blackett because he did not have the right breeding?

And perhaps she did no such thing. Evidence, please.

Lest this be thought a somewhat negative post, surely the point about AR is that he wrote about all types and classes of people, and drew his 'heroes' and 'villains' from all classes? One thing he didn't do was follow crude stereotypes, whether lower, middle or upper class. For what it is worth, AR's picture of the good and not-so-good people of all classes one meets in life coincides with my own.
