A small footnote: the popularity of the name Dorothea through the 19th and early 20th centuries was largely due to Goethe's much admired poem Hermann und Dorothea of 1796/7 (the link gives a fairly awful English translation). Being very much a literary gent, AR would certainly have been aware of the poem, and from that the name.
