We thought it might be interesting to blindfold a dowser and see if he/she came up with the same locations.

We have done so. We were holding a party at the front of our house and extracted the merrymakers one by one, gave no explanation but blindfolded them, gave them bent rods and asked them to walk across our back yard.

In two thirds of the cases the rods swung in exactly the same place over the drain from the kitchen sink where we had left the tap running. In the other cases there was no movement anywhere.

It convinced us, even though we can't explain it.

It seems surprising that nobody has done a PhD on such a clear but inexplicable phenomenon.
