From the Huddersfield Daily Examiner story about World Book Day 2006.

"Roy Hattersley, author of The Edwardians (paperback published by Abacus on Thursday at £9.99).

"It was not the best book I read as a child, perhaps not even a good book, but the book I most enjoyed was Arthur Ransome's Swallows and Amazons. To an asthmatic six- year-old in a village on the edge of an industrial city, the story of boats and Norfolk Broads was like a fairy tale."
