She's by no mean humourless: see for example GN p.147 where she and
Peggy manage to persuade the sailor from the Pterodactyl that as
mere ship's cook they couldn't possibly know where the Sea Bear
had been, and that for them charts were too puzzling "with figures all
over the place". Roger's reaction ("Gosh! I wish I'd been there."), it
seems to me, pays tribute to his sister's powers of deceit and deadpan
humour, and is not (as John assumes) merely a piece of typical Roger
conceit.
